SUMMARY:Lino block printing
DESCRIPTION:In this class you’ll learn the basics of carving and printing a relief print from a linoleum block. You will design and carve your own block and learn how to print it by hand as well as on a press\, and will leave the class with an edition of six completed prints. You will have the option to print your block in one colour\, in a multiple colour gradient\, or to try selectively inking your block to make a two colour print in one press run. \nThis class runs Tuesday evenings for two weeks\, September 5 and 12\, from 6:30 to 9:30pm. \nNo printmaking experience is required\, and all materials\, including paper\, are provided. \nPlease come with an idea or an image in mind for you print\, including drawings or photocopies is possible. We will be working on 7.5 by 10 inch blocks. \nIf you want to do some of your block carving outside class\, you will wish to purchase a Speedball Lino Cutter. We sell them in the studio and will take 20% off the price of the cutter if you buy it when registering for this class; please let us know when you register if you’d like one so we can be sure and have one ready for you. Our tools will be available for you to use during class time\, and you will easily be able to carve and print your block within class time\, so it’s not necessary to purchase a tool (or to do homework!). \nSpace in the class is limited. To secure your spot in the class\, a non-refundable deposit of 30% is required.
