SUMMARY:Lino block printing (two week class)
DESCRIPTION:In this class you’ll learn the basics of carving and printing a relief print from a linoleum block. You will design and carve your own block and learn how to print it by hand as well as on a press\, and will leave the class with an edition of six completed prints. You will have the option to print your block in one colour\, in a multiple colour gradient\, or to try selectively inking your block to make a two colour print in one press run. \nThis class runs for two weeks on Wednesday evenings\, January 15 & 22\, from 7-9pm at Meta Makers Cooperative. \nNo printmaking experience is required\, and all materials\, including paper\, are provided. You may borrow our tools if you need to work on your carving at home\, but if you catch the lino printing bug you will have the option of purchasing a lino carving set (handle and 10 blades) for $6 + tax during class (that’s half the usual price). \nPlease come with an idea or an image in mind for you print\, including drawings or photocopies is possible. We will be working on 6 by 8 inch blocks. \nSpace in the class is limited. To secure your spot in the class\, a non-refundable deposit of 30% is required.
