SUMMARY:Sew a messenger bag (2-week class)
DESCRIPTION:Christine Chenier from Saint Flamingo is bringing her popular messenger bag workshop to Levigator Press! \nIn this class you will create a messenger-style bag that’s great for all ages and genders. You will receive a pattern and be led through the process to create a trendy bag that you can use to replace your purse or use for books\, laptop\, diaper bag\, etc. We will cover beginning sewing skills such as creating a lining\, adding pockets\, and making an adjustable strap. You will also be able to customize the bag to fit your needs by choosing the fabric\, changing the size\, and adding or changing the size of the pockets.  \nThis class runs for two weeks\, Tuesday nights September 22 and 29\, from 7-10pm. You will leave the class with a finished bag. \nMinimal sewing experience is required.  \nPlease note: some materials for this class are not provided. You will need: \n-1 metre of your chosen bag fabric: choose medium to heavy weight wovens such as twill\, suiting\, canvas\, and stiffer cottons or blends. If you’re looking for unique fabrics for your bag\, you can check out the Saint Flamingo online shop. \n-1 metre of lining fabric: choose lighter weight fabrics such as quilting cotton or broadcloth.  \nHardware for the adjustable strap will be provided.  \nPlease bring your own sewing machine if possible. If you don’t have a machine\, we may have one you can borrow\, but please register early in order to reserve a machine. \nLimited to 8 participants. To secure your spot in the class\, a non-refundable deposit of 30% is required. Register in person at Levigator Press or call 519-991-4972. \nClass prices are subject to HST.
