Our summer show season is over for 2019 and we are working on putting the studio shop back together and gearing up for fall classes. Look at how pretty our new t-shirt shelving looks in the shop!
We’ve added new classes for August in case you need to get your print fix before the school year starts: letterpress posters, lino block printing, silkscreen monotypes, paper marbling, and a few different bookbinding techniques. We’ll be scheduling September over the next few weeks so get your requests in now if there’s something you want to take!
Here are some of the gorgeous letterpress posters created by our students over the past few months:
Here are our students’ finished books from Saturday afternoon’s bookbinding class! Watch for the next session coming up in July.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by to see us at Home County this weekend! The festival was very good to us and we had a great time. It was wonderful to spend a few days back in my old neighbourhood, and to reconnect with some London folks including former classmates, former teachers, and even my beloved former boss John from For The Art of It gallery, where I used to be a picture framer in another life. We’re already looking forward to being part of the festival again next year.
We’re very pleased and grateful to have been chosen for the festival’s Fresh & First award, given to a craft vendor new to the festival who brings a fresh and creative new approach. We worked hard to make our booth fun and inviting and it was gratifying to have that recognized!
We’re all set up and the weather is gorgeous. We’re here all weekend in beautiful Victoria Park; stop by and see us if you’re in London!
We’ve been busy! Here are 4 new broadsides we have finished this week, just in time for Home County Music and Art Festival in our old stomping grounds of London, Ontario. If you can’t catch us at the festival, these will soon be available in our studio shop and here on the website.
We have added some great finds to our type collection in the past few weeks! We recently visited the home studio of one of the proprietors of Morgan Press, a small press in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and purchased some of their type and ornaments:
And our friend Nicole of Frontière Farm House picked us up a fun mixed basket of old wood type:
The studio will be closed from Saturday, June 17 to Monday, June 26 to give us a chance to recharge in between our two big summer shows. We’ll be back in action on Tuesday, June 27, with classes starting up again our first day back! If you want to get in on any of the great classes we have scheduled for you, you can still register online to save your spot. Just click on the “classes” tab to the right.
We hope you enjoy the gorgeous summer weather, and we’ll see you in a week!
