In this class, students will design and carve their own lino block and learn how to print it on fabric in a repeating tile pattern. Week one will focus on design and block carving, and in week two you will print your fabric. You will go home with a two metre piece of fabric to enjoy as is or to use in future projects.
This class runs for two weeks on Wednesday evenings, April 18 and 25, from 7 to 9:30pm.
All materials are included. Students will be able to choose from a selection of fabrics that we have on hand in the studio (some plain colours, and some from printed yardage).
Please note that this class uses thinned oil based inks, and so you’ll need to leave your completed fabric in our studio for a few days after the class to fully dry before you take it home. Wet ink can transfer from your fabric, and it’s better that it happen in our studio than in your home!
