Christine Chenier of Saint Flamingo brings another of her popular sewing classes to Levigator Press!
Celebrate the return of warm weather with an new fun, flirty skirt that will be a complete reflection of your unique style. We will cover techniques such as following a pattern, making pockets, and installing a zipper.
You can customize the look of your skirt by using contrasting fabrics, playing with the design of the pockets, and giving it just the right length to flatter your figure.
This class runs for three weeks on Tuesday evenings, May 12, 19, and 26, from 7 to 9pm.
Please note: materials for this class are not provided. You will need:
-a copy of the pattern we’ll be using, Simplicity 2152. You can buy this pattern at any fabric store or online. Be sure to check the sizing and get the correct range for your size! If you need advice about sizing, please feel free to ask us.
-fabric for your skirt according to the yardage requirements listed on the pattern for your size. As a rough guideline, depending on the length you choose, you would need 1.5 to 2 metres for a size 6, or 2 to 2.5 metres for a size 22. Again, feel free to ask us for advice! You may also bring smaller amounts of multiple fabrics if you want to mix colours or patterns together. If you’d like to buy some unique fabric for your skirt from us and have it delivered to you in class you can check out the Saint Flamingo shop.
Please bring your own sewing machine if possible. If you don’t have a machine, we may have one you can borrow, but please register early in order to reserve a machine.
