Drum leaf binding is a rigid no-sew bookbinding method in which folded sheets of heavy drawing or printmaking paper are glued back-to-back to form a satisfyingly solid little book. Think children’s board books, without the board. This binding is ideal for artist book projects, as each sheet of paper is a complete, seamless two-page spread with no stitching breaking up the page gutter.
All materials are provided, but if you are a printmaker or other artist and want to incorporate pieces of your own prints or drawings into your book, feel free to bring in whatever you’ve got and we’ll design a one-of-a-kind book that you will love. We will be using a Stonehenge or similar paper, so something of a comparable weight will work best.
Limited to 10 participants. To secure your spot in the class, a non-refundable deposit of 30% is required. Register in person at Levigator Press or call 519-991-4972.
