Multi-block woodcut is a full colour printing method in which separate wood blocks are carved for each colour layer, allowing for a broader range of colour than the reductive method. In this four session class you will design and create an edition of six to ten woodblock prints using up to four separate colours. This is a fast paced class and we will get right into carving our blocks on the first day, so you should come prepared with an idea or a drawing for an 8×10 inch block.
This class runs Tuesday evenings for four weeks: November 1, 8, 15, and 22, from 6:30 to 9:30pm.
No printmaking experience is necessary.
All materials, including paper, are provided. If you have hand problems or are worried that wood may be too hard for you to cut, you can do the class using lino blocks (which are much easier to cut) instead.
Space in the class is limited. To secure your spot in the class, a non-refundable deposit of 30% is required. Register in person at Levigator Press or call 519-991-4972.
Class prices are subject to HST.
