Our MEND series focuses on basic hand sewing skills for repairing and improving your clothing and textiles. We will cover a different technique each week to help you give new life to your beloved, damaged items, ranging from simple repairs to decorative flourishes.
In this second instalment of MEND, you will learn a sturdy and elegant method for hand patching high friction areas in heavy fabrics, such as the knees and butts of jeans.
No sewing experience is necessary.
Fabric swatches and thread will be provided for you to practice on, but if you have a pair of trousers with a hole, you’re welcome to bring them along to work on. If you choose to bring an item, you may want to also bring a matching thread.
The MEND series will run every other Sunday afternoon and will focus on a different technique each time. You may take them all, or just a few, or just one, but if you register for two or more at once you’ll get $5 off the cost of each individual class (so, a single class is $20, but two classes will be $30, three classes $45).
Limited to 12 participants. To secure your spot in the class, a non-refundable deposit of 30% is required. Register in person at Levigator Press or call 519-991-4972.
Class prices are subject to HST.
