Today we printed up some sample t-shirts for our upcoming t-shirt printing workshop, using a limited colour palette and small hand carved linoleum blocks. I did the triangles design on the white shirt, and my co-op student Aiyana did the blue shirt with the fun bird character.

Today we had another student drop by to make some paper relief monoprints. She used a combination of die cut paper designs and hand cut pieces to come up with some lovely layers. Here are just a few of her prints:

My co-op student Aiyana got involved too, and made her first monoprint:

Here are a few prints from tonight’s fun class:

Tonight we had a few friends into the studio for a fun monoprinting session. They combined techniques of rolling and drawing ink onto the printing matrix with pressure printing, paper relief, and stencils. Some of the results were pretty fantastic!
If you want to try this, it’s a fun and easy introduction to printmaking if you’ve never done it before, and if you do have printmaking experience, it’s a low-investment way to try out some new ideas and techniques. There’s no carving, no prep work, and no editions! We have another session scheduled for March; check it out here: Monoprint Class link

Here are a few images of our lino printing students carving their blocks in tonight’s class. Next week we print!

We just had our final class of 2015, another session of our Block Print on Fabric class. Once again we had four friends sign up for the class together, which was a fun way to end the year. Here are a few images of their printing:

Our friend Jennie was in the studio today pulling some first proofs from a series of adorable hipster animal linocuts she’s been working on. There are many more in the works, but you’re going to have to wait a bit to see them. But trust us, they are SO GOOD.

Available now in the studio shop, and soon to be available in our Etsy shop.
11×17 letterpress and block printed broadsides on 65-lb French Paper in your choice of metallic blue and baby blue on white, or metallic blue and white on green.
Here are just a few images from last night’s class. The students were five members of one family who signed up together, which made for a super fun night! I’ll show you a few more images of their finished fabrics once the inks are dry; they made some really lovely pieces!
